Salary Range: $23.171-$29.041 Hourly
Grade: SGEU.06.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Saskatoon District Operations, is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Watson Section. As a member of the Section Crew you will operate, service and maintain heavy equipment, such as tandem trucks with hydrodrum, spinner and snowplow attachments, motor graders and front-end loaders.

You will perform various highway maintenance functions in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter months. You will keep records and logs of hours of operation, repairs and amounts of materials applied to highways. In the absence of the supervisor, you may be assigned supervisory responsibilities.

You will work under extreme and changing climate conditions and must be willing to travel and work flexible hours. You must be able and willing to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, heavy lifting, and climbing. As a member of a team who ensures public safety, you will have the opportunity to work with new and advanced technologies and equipment.

To qualify for this position, you must hold a valid Class 1A license.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of proper procedures for operation, maintenance and servicing of heavy duty motor equipment, such as a motor grader/tandem truck and heavy equipment mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel and lubrication systems.

Candidates must be able to perform the duties of this position in a safe manner. A criminal record check and a driver's abstract will be a requirement of this job.

Hours of Work: C - SGEU Regulated 37.33 - one day off every three weeks
