Territory Manager - Eastern Canada
Our client is looking for an experienced territory manager to join their team in Montreal. Your role will be to plan and execute business development and relationship management activities , to raise awareness in markets that present significant opportunity and to target and develop active fruitful relationships with select brokers;
Your Key Responsibilities:
? On a regional level, lead the organization intellectually, technically and operationally into developing a standardized message into the broker marketplace that writes SME business in specialty lines. Establish relationships, create a competitive differentiation, build the "brand" and facilitate the placement of new business.
? Raising the company's profile within the broker community dealing with SME business, increasing the strength of relationships within the broker market to achieve a highly productive level of consistent, strong producer relationships over time.
? Work with key internal stakeholders to develop product-specific business development plans. Segmenting, detailing and evaluating potential insureds (prospects), and executing such plan to ensure hitting targeted levels of growth and ‘hit' ratios in this market.
? Develop relationships with, and work closely with relevant brokers who are active in the target market, to ensure that there is a broad awareness the firm's target prospects and that the underwriters get the best possible opportunity to win this business.
? Work closely with producing brokers of existing clients, including ‘preferred' clients, to maintain appropriate levels of client relationship and delivers the highest standards of service.
? Use e-technologies to create a competitive advantage in the SME market.
? Participate in conferences and events.
? Holder of a Bachelor's degree education;
? Must be a self starter and work well on his or her own. You have a natural inclination towards being a self manager and be internally motivated towards identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
? Good working knowledge of MS Office, advanced Excel skills;
? You consistently do a good job of communicating clearly and concisely with an ability to enroll others in ideas in a way that builds commitment to them;
? Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise;
? Fluency in both written and spoken English and French;
? 5 to 6 years general commercial and financial knowledge and extensive experience in insurance industry developing profitable property/casualty business in the SME market;
? Professional approach to interact successfully with managers/ colleagues/ external suppliers;
? Willing to travel extensively 25 - 30 %. Territory covered will be Greater Montréal, Greater Québec and Otawa;
