Production Planning Manager

Overall Job Purpose:

The Production Planning Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination of labour and scheduling of our Cultivation team to meet production targets and quality standards. The Manager is also responsible for the training of staff in production methods, safety policies and procedures as well as the identification and correction of potential work problems and health and safety issues.

This is a hardworking, hands-on, rolls-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative management style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the Cultivation team along with the Cultivation Manager in order to align with demand planning
  • Track inventory and monitor throughput versus target within SAP ERP System
  • Monitor/maintain cultivation supplies inventory through SAP ERP System
  • Coordinate work activities with QA to ensure that appropriate quality measures are being incorporated into our cultivation processes
  • Identify, investigate, correct and document potential environmental and safety problems in conjunction with our Health and Safety Officer.
  • Assist to create production and yield forecasts considering available capacity and production schedule
  • Develop and manage cultivation operating budget
  • Assist in resolving staffing problems within cultivation department
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Maintaining compliance with the regulations specified within the Cannabis Act

Candidate Profile:
  • Post-Secondary education in related field
  • Production Planning and Manufacturing experience
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience
  • Background in developing and managing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Experience with ERP systems
o Experience in SAP would be considered a strong asset
  • Advanced level experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with reporting, analytics and forecasting
  • Solution oriented and proactively drives process improvement
  • Builds strong relationships within the team and with cross functional partners
  • Self-starter, who works independently, takes responsibility and demonstrates integrity

Additional Information:
  • Wages: To be determined based on experience
  • Status: Full-Time, Permanent Position; Able to support overtime and weekend work if required
