Up to 2 Full-time Temporary Positions (up to 1 year) - 35 hours/week

Salary: $63,383.32 to $74,163.18 annually (2019 rates of pay)

Successful applicants meeting the employer’s qualification standard will be placed on an eligibility list in order
of seniority. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill Full Time Continuous and Full Time Temporary vacancies
for up to one year from the closing date of this competition.

  • You may initially be paid 95% of your starting rate of pay, in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary

Responsible for the management of client cases at various stages of service delivery through assessing the
financial, social and personal needs of applicants, determining and maintaining eligibility for a range of social
services programs and services, providing information on program criteria and required documentation,
making referrals to internal and external resources and providing support in personal, social and employment
planning and crisis intervention to clients. The work requires the use of various provincial and regional
applications such as SAMS, SERVIS, and HIFIS.

Education & Experience

Two (2) year community college diploma in a human services curriculum

Minimum twelve (12) months experience in social services programs

Two (2) year community college diploma in disciplines related to Human Services may be considered

Language, Certificates & Licenses

A valid Ontario unrestricted "G" class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit
points accumulated.

The successful candidates will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check to the City of

Day 1 Ready – immediate requirement for language proficiency:
French oral, reading, writing required
English oral, reading, writing required

Candidates must meet language requirement for position upon hire.

Various language requirements, positions may require English, or Bilingual competencies.
