Job Description

Sister Sophie Ltd. (Markham) is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher. You will be teaching English for all grades in 1 v 1 or small group settings at our tutoring center. We provide lesson plans and teaching materials.

【Qualifications】

- Master's Degree in Humanity-related areas, from a Canadian/US University

【Prefered Programs】

- Master's Degree in English Language & Art (with a minor in History / Classics / Political Science preferred)

- Licensed with OCT is a strong asset

【Job Duty】

-Independently design / create English programs for the following subjects/courses:
· SAT & AP English
· Essay Writing
· Reading Club

-Train other teachers in academic development and teaching skills

- Improve /prepare lesson plans

- Teaching/tutoring, including marking homework

- Communicate with parents/students if necessary

【Current Teaching Area】

[Literacy]

Secondary School Level:

· SAT & AP English
· Essay Writing

[Literature]

Secondary School Level:

· Reading Club - 4 (Grade 9 & above)

· 1 on 1 tutoring

【Salary】
Intermediate level: Starting from $48,000/ year, depending on merit

【Career Development Path】

Senior / Director level:
$55,000/year (with at least three year’s experience), depending on merit

【Remuneration】

Expected Hiring Date: April 1, 2020
