ABOUT OUR OPERATION


Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Energy and Infrastructure General Supervisor, the Energy Maintenance Supervisor is part of the Energy and Infrastructure Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. The Incumbent will supervise all Meadowbank energy and instrumentation activities. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Supervise and coordinate the
electrical/instrumentation and powerhouse site activities;
  • Implement and ensure application of working procedures among electrical/powerhouse and instrumentation team members;
  • Ensure proper standard work practices are followed through the preventive and corrective maintenance activities;
  • Ensure the programming structure is followed and standard within the instrumentation team;
  • Coordinate planned shutdowns when necessary;
  • Coordinate morning meetings and weekly safety meetings with your team;
  • With respect of Agnico Eagle’s internal management process, prepare daily work packages for all team members.

  • WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
    • Must have 7+ years of experience in a similar role;
    • Experience in remote site power plant management;
    • Mining experience is considered an asset;
    • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
    • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.

    Your Work Schedule:

    • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
