Accountabilities: The Field Supervisor is responsible for managing the scheduling and assignment of meter reading resources within Meter & Inspection Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that work is completed in a safe, efficient manner as well as being responsible for ensuring work execution is completed as planned, with quality and accuracy while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
The Field Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the meter reading staff for the Northeast and West territories which will require frequent travel throughout these territories. Within this capacity, s/he will be responsible to manage all support functions associated with meter reading such as promoting and executing safety programs, training, coaching and performance management, maintaining customers keys, dealing with customer issues, conducting employee safety observations, assisting employees in personal development planning, managing fleet requirements for the work group, maintaining good labour relations and coordinating meter inventory and associated meter reading equipment.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
This position is considered a safety sensitive position. As such, the successful candidate must comply with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Policy which requires a confidential pre-employment alcohol and drug test in accordance with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Procedure.
Skills, Capabilities and Experience: Grade XII education or equivalent with supervisory or relevant experience is required. Preference will be given to those applicants with work planning experience and knowledge of meter reading job functions which includes equipment, schedules, billing requirements (Customer Information System), maintenance of customer keys, and familiarity with geographic areas.
The incumbent will be detail oriented, have strong computer skills, and the ability to multitask. S/he will have strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent
