We Are Growing! Opportunity exists for a Dock Supervisor/Loader Receiver

A key member of Kentville NS terminal, the Dock Supervisor/Loader Receiver will safely and efficiently coordinate, assign work, resolve work related problems, load and unload freight. Reporting directly to the Terminal Manager, the Dock Supervisor/Loader Receiver will be instrumental in providing hands on support to ensure product is handled with care to meet our Customer requirements. This is a full-time 40-45 hour position with a flex schedule yet to be determined including nights and weekends.

Core duties:

  • Follow company procedures/policies for properly and safely loading and unloading freight
  • Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight
  • Count freight
  • Ensure proper weight distribution and load configuration of trailers when loading
  • Review freight documents for accuracy
  • Inspect condition of freight
  • Participate in training programs
  • Perform duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism
  • Other duties as


  • Relevant post-secondary education or a combination of related education and experience is required
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder and horizontally
  • Minimum of 2 years forklift experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in varied climates (refrigerated trailers)
  • Effective communication in English, both oral or written
