Job Description:

Centerplate at Scotiabank Centre is seeking energised, motivated cooks to join its culinary team. We are looking for dedicated industry professionals who will strive every day to ensure the guest experience at Scotiabank Centre is extraordinary and not to be beaten.

Daily duties include:

  • Maintenance of cleanliness and organisation of work spaces
  • Attention to detail
  • Execution of Chef's/Supervisors' orders
  • Close adherence to food specifications
  • Catering prep including platters, soups, stews, proteins, vegetables, starches, salads
  • Preparation of deep fried products and nachos/pizzas during event service
  • Presentation of foods in the correct and attractive manner
  • Correct food handling procedures and good hygienic practices are a must
  • Report product shortages and record product that needs to be ordered on order
  • Report damaged equipment and any safety hazards in the workplace
  • Appropriate handling of foods prepared for patrons with dietary restrictions
  • Successful candidates should have at least 3 years cooking experience, however culinary students are encouraged to apply! Additionally, having a food handler's certificate is an asset.

    Salary: $14.00 /hour

    Job Duties:

    • Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
    • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
    • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
    • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
    • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
