Job Information

The Family and Community Social Worker reports, and is accountable, to the Regional Supervisor, Child & Family Services. This is a team of Family and Community Social Workers based in Yellowknife, N'Dilo and Dettah.

This position is responsible for a caseload ranging from approximately 15 to 35 cases, and the role and responsibilities of this

position range according to legal status, from providng support services, to making decisions as a guardian, on behalf of the Regional Supervisor, Child & Family Services.

This position frequently provides services to other Regions from across the NWT, as clients move to Yellowknife in order to gain access to resources.

Typically, the qualifications for this position are attained by the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and 3 years’ experience in the delivery of social services which must include at least one year of Child Protection work.
