The Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg offers a 5-year integrated program that emphasizes a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to teacher education. The Faculty of Education also offers an After-degree program. In keeping with its mandate, the program also provides additional focus on the preparation of teachers to meet the needs of urban and inner-city students. The Faculty of Education invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Science Education. Subject to final budgetary approval, this appointment is effective July 1, 2020. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must have a commitment to teaching and community service.
This position is in the area of elementary years (K-8) science education. The successful candidate should hold (or be well on the way to completing) a Ph.D., in the sciences or science education, and should have experience in university settings teaching courses focused on curriculum, instruction, and assessment in the area of elementary science education in a certification program in teacher education. In addition, experience teaching elementary science (K-8) in school settings would be an asset.
