Process Improvement Specialist / Technical Writer Career Opportunity

The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a Process Improvement Specialist / Technical Writer for our Performance Centre Team within our Home Office located at 147 Commerce Drive in Winnipeg, MB .

As a Process Improvement Specialist / Technical Writer, you will be responsible for the design, development/recommendation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and workflows. You will evaluate all continuous improvement activities and implement plans to optimize performance and processes. You will employ Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives.

As the Process Improvement Specialist / Technical Writer, you will:

Develop Standard Operating Procedures for Brands, Departments and positions including documentation and process mapping.

Review and revalidate existing SOP’s

Analyze current procedures using lean methodology to recommend changes to improve guest experience and operational efficiencies

Recommend and develop job/implementation aids to improve guest experience and efficiencies

Develop departmental SME’s in process writing / process mapping

Support the development and execution of training initiatives as
required.

Apply Change Management and Project Management philosophies as part of procedural development

Maintain all documentation on TDG’s Intranet platform

Represent Performance Centre on Project Teams as required

Create and update process maps in Visio

As a successful candidate you will have the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or combination of relevant post-secondary education & experience

3+ years’ experience in process development including analysis, writing and deployment strategies.

Formal training in Six Sigma or Lean methodology is an asset

Excellent verbal, written, group facilitation and presentation skills including value stream mapping, waste identification, Kaizen.

Strong organizational & prioritizing skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively while adhering to strict timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment

Above average proficiency in MS Office products including Word (Advanced), Excel, Visio (Advanced), PowerPoint

Experience in single-source software such as MadCap Flare (preferred), Oxygen XML

Ability to learn new software programs quickly (Camtasia, Articulate, ERP Systems, LMS, etc.)

Ability to work retail hours on occasion (ex. weekends, evenings).

Travel within Canada and the US will be required (approximately 20 days per year)
