The “Engaged Learners Program” offered by the Career Studies Department works with students who are
presently not attending school by providing orientation and training that will encourage them to return to
school or to employment. The students attend a modern wilderness camp located 20 kms south of
Cranberry Portage, Manitoba as the first stage in this program. The students are at camp for 2-3 weeks at
a time and then return home for 1-2 weeks on a continual basis throughout the school year. Room and
board at the camp can be arranged.

The Supervisors are responsible for the safety and well-being of the female or male students in their

care.
They will provide guidance to students to promote healthy life skills, e.g. nutrition, personal hygiene, daily
chores such as room cleaning, refuse collection and disposal, bed making.
