Taber is a lovely town in Southern Alberta. The Taber Health Care Center services the town as well as the surrounding community and is the busiest site in the South Rural area. The site is home to a strong group of like-minded laboratory professionals who ensure excellent patient care to this rural community. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.

Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing

procedures and reporting results.

Successful candidate must work well independently as well as part of a team.Rural experience an asset. Experience with outpatients, acute care as well as Emergency room patients an asset.
