Job Overview
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, you are responsible for overseeing on site construction activities. You will assist with ensuring construction follows established design and quality and that safety standards are upheld.
  • Promoting a safe work environment and ensuring all employees and trades work in a safe manner and follow Qualico’s Safety program and relevant safety legislation.
  • Communicating and maintaining positive relationships with trade partners and suppliers.
  • Inspecting work to ensure it meets Qualico’s standards and all building & safety code requirements.
  • Completing required repairs, handling general deficiencies.
  • Supporting the Site Superintendent in monitoring the project, maintaining project schedules and completing regular progress reports.
  • Supervising and providing guidance to onsite team members.

Essential Requirements

  • A creative problem solver; thinking outside the box for solutions without fear of failure.
  • A strong communicator; not only can you clearly express your thoughts in conversation, you can also write and present in a persuasive and influencing manner.
  • Physically able to carry out basic construction duties.

Other requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the residential construction industry.
  • Understanding of construction processes and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office Programs (outlook, Word, Excel) and construction management software (BuildPro, NewStar etc.).

Work Conditions
You will work primarily on site during regular business hours. Work will have exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Travel to the regional office or other site locations is required. Overtime may occasionally be required.
